Put on your cape and cowl and join us for our Superhero Pub Crawl as we remember and celebrate our nation's true heroes, our Veterans.
There is a $25 entrance fee to participate in this night of fun, excitement, and adventure. All proceeds from this event will help us in our efforts to support returning combat Veterans and their families through reintigration, rehabilitation, and therapeutic healing. Participants in the Pub Crawl will receive drink specials, free food, and raffle tickets for a chance to win one of several marvelous prizes.
All participants will meet at the Ancient Order of the Hibernians before departing to each pub. Participating bars will be Katie O'Byrnes, Bombers Burrito Bar, 20 North, and Pinhead Susan's.
During the Pub Crawl there will be a scavenger hunt, where participants will have a chance to meet The Avengers as well as defeat the Asgardian God of mischief, Loki, earning themselves bragging rights as well as a chance to win our special "Avengers Assemble" gift basket, which will include two movie tickets that can be used to go see Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
After the festivities have concluded participants will be taken back to the Ancient Order of the Hibernians for free food and the announcement of our raffle winners. Free cab rides will also be available at this time, courtesy of Martin Harding and Mazzotti, LLP.

The New York National Guard Job Zone was established in November 2011 to provide a single source point of contact to facilitate the distribution of employment opportunities throughout the State of New York to our Service Members and their Families. The sources of employment come from federal, state, and civilian employers who seek the attributes associated with military service. It is also the duty of the NYNG Job Zone to partner with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Program, Department of Labor (DOL) and the wide array of civilian employers who seek the talents of our Service Members.
The Mission of the New York National Guard Job Zone
The New York National Guard Job Zone’s primary mission is to serve as a focal point for job opportunities for our Service Members throughout New York State and facilitate employer partnering with our program, through posting of job fairs and individual employment opportunities on our website, face to face and electronic communication with employers and a constant liaison with the Department of Labor and the NYESGR Committee.
The Vision of the New York National Guard Job Zone
The goal of the New York National Guard Job Zone is to increase the number of employed, decrease the number of underemployed Service Members and their Families, and build a robust network of private businesses in support of Service Members and their Families throughout New York State. Over one million Service Members are projected to leave the military between 2011-2018. This single data point underscores the importance of linking Veterans to critical support and outreach sources. 9/11 Heroes Run
A Message from 9/11 Heroes Run :
Thank you for making the inaugural 9/11 Heroes Run in Saratoga Springs a great success!
We had 307 runners cross the 5k finish line and a nice showing for the 1-mile family fun run/walk. Over $15,000 was raised and after race expenses are taken out, all proceeds will go to the Travis Manion Foundation and Patriot Hills of NY, Inc.
Finish Right Timing did a great job getting everyone's chip time. The results are posted here: http://www.finishright.com/ROAD/ROAD%202013/91113.htm

VA's new Hotline For Women Veterans
The Department of Veterans Affairs has launched a new hotline—1-855-VA-WOMEN (1-855-829-6636) — to receive and respond to questions from Veterans, their families and caregivers about the many VA services and resources available to women Veterans. The service began accepting calls on March 27, 2013.
“Some women Veterans may not know about high-quality VA care and services available to them,” said Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki.
Team Red, White and Blue Community
What runners and the community experienced in Boston a week ago, is the exact same thing that hundreds of thousands of service members have experienced in Iraq and Afghanistan over the past decade.
In the chaotic aftermath of the bombing, Team Red, White & Blue members from across the country began posting on Facebook a photo and a short video of a Team RWB veteran who turned his RWB shirt into a tourniquet. This action reminded us of the positive things happening amid the evil. It also put the spirit of Team RWB on full display for millions of Americans to see.
We had 17 Team RWB athletes who ran in the Boston Marathon last Monday, including, veterans, active duty and non-military. Thankfully, none of them were injured, but each is forever changed. Within a few hours of the attacks, our organization committed to responding to the evil and pain with hope, strength and optimism. We did this by organizing "Team RWB response runs" across the country in over 45 cities. This video captures Team Red, White & Blue communities in action and we encourage you to share this with others.
Please let them know about what we do and why---and encourage them to learn about our Team.
Thanks for your support.
